Our Clients Say... Andy Kadak

"While serving on the Senior Nuclear Safety Oversight Board, I witnessed how PII applied its in-depth technology to significantly improve safety performance at a site of 2,000 workers. Without qualification, I highly recommend PII to companies which are serious about reducing error rates and improving safety performance."

Most safety culture surveys usually can be categorized as qualitative

and subjective. As a result, there is no proof that a higher survey score translates into improved safety performance. PII's safety culture survey is unique in the industry. Developed over seven years, incorporating data from 245 organizations, our survey is a leading indicator for safety and performance because it is quantitative and objective. Survey questions are carefully selected and tested for relevancy to safety performance, typically expressed by injury rate or operation event rate. The score of PII's safety culture survey has an R-square of greater than 78%, meaning that 78% of the organization's safety performance can be explained by the survey scores.

PII's survey covers 5 critical areas:

  1. Safety goal and mission
  2. Knowledge and skills
  3. Teamwork
  4. Process Safety
  5. Self-improvement

Using quantitative, objective scores, PII's safety culture survey can be used routinely to determine the future trend of safety performance with a 71% certainty. More importantly, it can pinpoint an organization's weak points so that effective corrective actions can be implemented.
